Who we are
This website is run by Sergio Giannone, a sole trader based in England, trading as Cowritten ("we", "us").
We are the data controller for the personal data this website collects. If you have a question about how we handle your data, email sergio@cowritten.ai.
What we collect, and why
Enquiries through the contact form
When you fill in the form on our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, company name, and whatever you tell us about what you want to build.
We use this to reply to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to prepare a proposal or agreement. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, where a contract follows, the steps needed to enter into that contract.
Form submissions are delivered to sergio@cowritten.ai, a Google Workspace mailbox. We don't add you to a mailing list from a form submission.
Site analytics
We use Framer's own built-in analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they read. Framer says this tool doesn't use cookies: it counts visitors from a hash of IP address and browser type that resets every day, and it says the result can't be traced back to a person.
We don't run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other tracking script on this site.
Cookies
As things stand, this site doesn't show a cookie banner, because we don't use non-essential cookies. Framer's hosting may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to make the site work. If we ever add a tool that sets non-essential cookies (analytics beyond Framer's own, a chat widget, embedded video), we'll add a cookie banner before we switch it on.
Calendly
The "Book a Call" buttons take you to Calendly, a separate website. We don't collect or see the details you enter there. For that data, Calendly is an independent controller under its own privacy policy (calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice).
Links to LinkedIn and Substack
We link to Sergio's LinkedIn profile and the Cowritten newsletter on Substack (cowrittenai.substack.com). Those are separate services with their own privacy policies. This site has no newsletter sign-up form of its own.
Who we share data with
A small number of suppliers run this site and help us reply to enquiries. Each only sees what it needs to do its job.
Framer B.V.: Hosts the site, runs the built-in analytics, delivers contact-form submissions to us. Where: Netherlands (hosting infrastructure also in the US and other regions).
Google Workspace (Google): Our email mailbox, where contact-form submissions land. Where: Ireland / global.
Calendly: Call scheduling, once you click through from our site (independent controller, see above). Where: US.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
International transfers
Framer's hosting infrastructure runs across the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Where personal data leaves the UK or the EEA, Framer's own privacy statement and data processing addendum say it relies on the UK and EU standard contractual clauses (with the UK Addendum where UK GDPR applies), or an adequacy decision, as the safeguard.
Google Workspace relies on the same kind of safeguard, standard contractual clauses, for transfers outside the UK and EEA.
How long we keep data
Contact-form enquiries that don't turn into a client engagement: deleted after 24 months.
Emails and records tied to a client engagement: kept for as long as UK accounting and tax law requires (usually six years after the end of the accounting period they relate to).
Analytics data: held by Framer under its own settings. We don't export or store it separately.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
tell you what personal data we hold about you
correct it if it's wrong
delete it
restrict how we use it
give you a copy in a portable format
stop using it for a particular purpose, including where we rely on legitimate interests
Email sergio@cowritten.ai to use any of these rights. We'll respond within a month.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out directly first.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes. The date at the top shows when we last updated it.
